JennieMcKeon

He also vetoed funding for mental health services for survivors of the Pulse shooting...

pataconconqueso

That veto also included funding for things like a a homeless shelter for lgbt youth who have been kicked out by their family and get denied by regular shelters. I’m so fucking glad I moved away from that hellhole.

unbelizeable1

>I’m so fucking glad I moved away from that hellhole. Same, same. What scares me is how big a chance this shitbag may actually have in 2024. I left.... don't let this fucker follow me lol

Senior_Masterpiece69

I left Texas and my home state of Florida just because of these shit bag governors. Stupid people keep voting these guys in and it shows. I wouldn't even spend a dime in either state in my life.

HatsOff2MargeHisWife

Agreed! I like to travel quite a bit and have spent loads of time (& $$$!) in both states. No more. They are truly flyover from now on. I won't subsidize this behavior.

mescal813

Florida is terrible especially Miami where your expected to speak Spanish at many stores. I refuse to but I speak Portuguese, German french and some Spanish. Love to listen to them talk in front of me about gringo idioto.burro. Then right before I leave respond have a nice day or something. Red-faced Everytime .next time I believe they'll be quiet

[deleted]

kconko

Could not agree more. I left in 2011 and haven't looked back. I wish the rest of my family would get the hell out. I was the lucky first to escape. Although I'm starting to feel that way about the US in its entirety lately. Moreso if DeSantis runs in 2024.

danjouswoodenhand

There’s a guy driving around Phoenix with a Trump/Desantis 2024 flag and “Make AZ Florida again” sign. Yuck.

mcmonties

Not to mention that FL is gonna be underwater due to climate change. Yes, please invest in property here, fantastic idea

HatsOff2MargeHisWife

And gators.

TheSomnambulist

Honestly I liked the gators, they’re pretty chill until humans start giving them food and they associate food with people. Fuck the mosquitoes and wide variety of venomous spiders though.

Mrrasta1

And anacondas 30 ft long.

mustangnick88

Pond puppies!

unbelizeable1

>awful food Right?! I've lived a lot of different places over the years and Fl takes the cake on this one, by a lot. Fl is a big state so maybe it diff other places but SWFL was just trash food everywhere you went. Don't miss that shit at all. I'm convinced the only reason Pub Subs are popular is because those people never experienced a good sandwich, publix is fucking gross.

pataconconqueso

It depends where you go, FL has great Latin American food (except Mexican, not that great there) if you dare to go to the places no one speaks English. I’m from central Florida and the only thing I miss is the good Latin American food there. We have a lady that hand makes arepas and tamales and we pick up from her. But yes anything American sucks unless it’s southern food in certain places.

unbelizeable1

I mean, with the massive Latin population I expected it to exist somewhere in Florida, but I sure as hell didn't experience it where I was. It was extra bad for me since I moved from Belize to Florida, so I went from amazing Latin American food for every meal to not being able to find it anywhere in my area. I live in NM now, so I'm back to eating great tamales and tacos all the time lol

HatsOff2MargeHisWife

Whatabout that hot dog emporium across from the stadium?

gophergun

Same here, and it honestly seems like it's getting worse.

assumeyouknownothing

What a great way to celebrate Pride Month

Matt463789

Republicans: "Working as intended."

WunupKid

Yeah I don’t want to sound callous or anything because I find that incredibly upsetting as well, but people are acting shocked and surprised by this and I don’t know why. This is exactly in the GOP’s wheelhouse, and I would expect the same from any Republican Governor.

Tekshow

In fact when they do the opposite like Raffensberger defending the voting results in GA, or DeWine requiring a mask mandate and competent vaccine rollout that IS the shocking surprise. The exception to the rule and definitely not the current expectation.

ExceedsTheCharacterL

DeWine was just listening to his health director, and she quit after magaloons protested outside her home. He was a standard Republican dipshit after that. Raffenberger still works for Kemp and still shockingly said he would vote for Trump I believe

joan_wilder

Honestly, I think a lot of republicans still *say* they’d support trump if he were the nominee only because they know he won’t. They’re all just trying to keep his base together long enough to get themselves re-elected, but behind the scenes, they’re counting on some indictments to get him out of the way. They’re probably already planning to feign outrage and fundraise over his criminal trials until 2022 is done.

rexanimate7

In that case, then it would just be the typical short sided bullshit we see from that type of politician. The way that ends even if there are indictments would likely be Trump still running even if he's convicted of something. You can run while you're in prison, and I wouldn't put it past Trump to still try to do that. The mistake here would be thinking they can control his base and get them to vote for who they want them to vote for.

Mode_Historical

I'd rather have Raffensberger again than some MAGA moron robot who doesn't give a when about the law.

jpopimpin777

Oh come on now! Some of them would accept the funds... with a big virtue signaling speech... ...then quietly behind the scenes the would misappropriate said funds as kickbacks and slush funds for their campaign donors and political allies!!

Yitram

I think most of my shock is he didn't wait until the anniversary of the shooting to do it.

darksidemojo

Republicans: “you will vote for us anyway”

Rocketboy1313

On the first he also signed a bill banning trans kids from participating in extracurricular sports. ["In Florida, girls are going to play girls sports and boys are going to play boys sports," Gov. Ron DeSantis said as he signed the bill into law at a private Christian academy in Jacksonville that would not be subject to the law. "We're going to make sure that that's the reality."](https://www.npr.org/2021/06/02/1002405412/on-the-first-day-of-pride-month-florida-signed-a-transgender-athlete-bill-into-l)

Mode_Historical

Like there's nothing else in Florida more important than bullshit like this. people are still dying from covid. Lake O is still polluted, but DeSantis thinks this is a major problem. This has nothing to do with fair sports competition. It's really all about who gets into the girls locker Room. So now we will have people who mentally identify as male but are physically female in the girls locker rooms.

Mindset_Positive

You watch too much CNN. If you were a girl playing in sports would you want to compete against a guy who is stronger than you? It is 100% unfair. Trans dudes can still compete with their own sex. Tha=ey have NOT been banned from playing in their school's sports. That is an outright LIE. Getting a sex change doesn't change the fact that the person is still stronger than a woman. Get real!

MotorcycleMcGee

This isn't actually true. Trans women who transition medically end up less strong and often physically more frail than cis counterparts, even if they still *look* a little bulkier.

[deleted]

[удалено]

WolfMan889

1 - it would be a trans woman who joined the wresting team. 2 - it's bullshit and discriminatory 3 - the bill says precisely that transwomen are barred from women's sports.

Rocketboy1313

Is that all is "says" when it is signed into law at the start of pride month "at a private Christian academy in Jacksonville that would not be subject to the law"? Is that all it *says*?

freakincampers

That was the day after he signed an anti trans bill into law.

BizzyBoyBizzyBee

As one survivor, Brandon Wolf, tweeted, “Here’s [Governor DeSantis] in 2019, standing on hallowed ground, promising me that he would always support those of us impacted by the Pulse nightclub shooting. Today, he vetoed mental health services for us. I will never forget.”

NeedleworkerBitter37

that shit was targeted specifically for this month. what a POS

Dionysus_the_Greek

De Santis is on his way to running for president, so you can expect these decisions to keep conservatives happy.

wsnc13

I know this and am doing all I can to keep this from happening. Damn him

Ill-Physics-84

Why? De Santis would be a great president.

NeedleworkerBitter37

he is a mini trump. gtfo.

eatmypis

Every time i see de santis/owens anywhere my stomach turns honestly..

fllr

So here’s the question, right…? Who is the bigger piece of garbage? Trump, Abbot, or this guy? I can’t seem to decide… 🤔

osteopath17

Can we take back the federal dollars. Cause Biden should.

abundzu

Certainly crazy coincidence that they had this and other things like targeting trans children within the first couple days of pride month and not another monstrous example of overt hate and bigotry.

420blazeit69nubz

And it was only $900k of the budget and not all of that was even for the Pulse survivors. Then again this is the same party that wanted to stop funding benefits for 9/11 first responders and a comedian had to stand up for the first responders.

mrpanicy

They cover that in the article.

Brent_L

Florida only gives its finest citizens the opportunity to represent its citizens at the highest levels of government.

sarah_echo

Floridian here: Desantis’ agenda is extremely disturbing. They know how to play dirty political power move tactics. He is grooming Florida to be a red state in the next election. Tactic #1 - With these absurd actions that easily gain national attention, the slimy snake is successfully recruiting blood red voters from blue states. At a very alarming rate. Because.. convincing the easily manipulated that “Florida is more free!!” “Less government control!” the new transplants yell, spitting red from their foaming mouths while setting their masks ablaze. Meanwhile, Florida citizens are overwhelmed with the purposefully manipulative and divisive bills, being forcefed laws that demand who our kids are allowed to play with. I suppose the schools and parents were incapable of handling these decisions on their own... I guess this doesn’t fall under the “less government control” category? This leads us into tactic #2: while using our children and the entire lgbtq+ community as pawns in his sick agenda, Desantis is simultaneously pissing off the liberal and blue voters. So much so, that they are evacuating to blue states to be surrounded by like-minded people with similar values and morals. All of this purposeful hate and division ...all to play his sick masterful game of controlling power... we are successfully being divided with the “you versus them” instigation tactics. He is actively replacing our “purple” status to red. And when you only have 1 balance of power.. that is when very dark things begin to take place. Red’s not a good color on you, Florida. #endrant

CardboardKetchup

He's a no-good POS jackass. All he is.

BootyHoleTasteTester

I guess I'm confused on why this was even included? Is there funding given to other victims in shootings? I always imagine that a good middle ground towards safer gun control is requiring insurance so if this happens, they're on the hook

Jah75

your middle ground for gun control is "make the business owners buy insurance"??

Frankie6Strings

Sounds about right.

scawtsauce

Reich wing

Fonsiloco

Scumbag gonna scumbag

Smogh

We currently have two democrats challenging desantis in 2022. Sometime in most likely September we will have the democratic primary for governor. The two candidates so far are: Charlie Crist: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Crist And Nikki Fried: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikki_Fried If you live in Florida, make sure you are registered to vote. If you are just coming of age and this is your first time voting, welcome. You can find more info on how to register here: https://registertovoteflorida.gov/home Once we’re through with the primary, we throw our full weight into the nominee and put this shitty phase of Florida behind us.

SauronSymbolizedTech

For anyone who thinks primaries aren't important, they can be the difference between getting a really good candidate or a closet Qanon Republican with a (D) after their name.

themage78

The problem is Crist has name recognition and money to win. And people are stupid and see a D after his name and vote for him because he can get rid of DeSantis. And if he does win, you replace Republican with Republican lite.

Cromasters

Which is still an improvement. Don't get me wrong, vote for someone else in the primary, but getting rid of DeSantis feels like a much bigger deal than getting the perfect progressive candidate in office.

biggmclargehuge

Not only that but it will really take the wind out of his sails for a potential Presidential run in 2024 which we all know is coming. "I lost my seat to a D but hey vote for me for President, K?"

themage78

Sadly, I agree too. I just find it wrong that the Democrats are now been pulled further to the right by former Republicans and Independents that don't want to caucus with what has become of the GOP. So the normal changes you get when you switch from one party to the other never really happens, because Crist isn't going to 100% believe in Democrat ideals, but more like Republican ideals with a few Democratic leanings.

protomenace

Democrats should embrace them anyway. Their inability to do so hurts them. If it was a Democrat-turned-Republican, the Republicans would be welcoming them with open arms and bragging about having converted them. See Jeff Van Drew. Instead, democrats obsess over these dumb ideological purity tests and eat each other alive.

chrisq823

There is no purity test. People are allowed to want representation and they cant accept but if you dont the Republicans will be worse forever. Progressives have rolled with the punches for too long and whenever they do you get an administration that does nothing to stop the fascists. Were sick of sacrificing so that a bunch of politicians and citizens can larp being bipartisan and killing this country.

themage78

So Dems need to take in everyone who can't get elected as a traditional Republican anymore and drive the party further to the right? How is that a purity test? The purity test is more on the Republican side nowadays that unless you praise Trump, you are not Republican. Sorry if I want people who run as Democrats to somewhat believe in what the party platform. He had been pro-life, pro-gun, opposed Obamacare, and anti-immigration. https://www.ontheissues.org/Charlie_Crist.htm Oh and he switched to an Independent in 2010 because polling had him losing. People like him and Van Drew don't care what party they are in, just use whichever will elect them to power.

hennytime

You mean a q nut or a former republican? Yea this sucks.

WhenAmI

And remember, Florida has closed primaries, so you need to register with that party to vote in their primary.

Oh my god, pure people still exist. Nobody tell them, let them live blissfully!

relator_fabula

> QAnon[a] (/ˌkjuːəˈnɒn/), or simply Q, is a discredited American far-right conspiracy theory alleging that a cabal of Satanic, cannibalistic pedophiles run a global child sex trafficking ring and conspired against former President Donald Trump during his term in office. QAnon is commonly described as a cult. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QAnon

[deleted]

[удалено]

p_iynx

People must think you’re trolling, since Q Anon are a pretty large portion of Trump’s supporter base and were many of the ones who drove the attempted insurrection in January. It’s just surprising that anyone has remained unaware so maybe they think you’re commenting in bad faith, or something. To answer your question, Q Anon are far right wing conspiracy theorists who believe that Trump was sending them coded messages through his tweets and speeches that would act as a call to action when he was ready to take down “the deep state.” They also think there is a shadowy cabal of Democrats who are involved in sex trafficking, but Q Anon tend to turn a blind eye when Republicans say and do things that are 1000 times more incriminating (like the Matt Gaetz situation).

KittenOfCatarina

Q is such a culturally pervasive cult that it's probably similar to not knowing about scientologists, some prob. downvoting feeling like you've gotta know about them, could be angry about it too, with how negatively impactful they've been in so many peoples' lives.

ghombie

No question mark?!?!? Fucking barbarian.

Grantland5

The front-runner for the Democratic nomination is a former Republican Governor of Florida.

iggy555

Ugh

ofchiai

People can change. Elizabeth Warren used to be a Republican. I'm sure a lot of people on this subreddit also used to consider themselves Republicans and are not probably consider themselves Progressives.

Herbicidal_Maniac

And Nikki Fried is deeply (and semi-secretly) invested in medical marijuana and has used her office as the commissioner of agriculture to the benefit of those positions. She's another Republican's Democrat.

trbleclef

Please, it's no secret, and Floridians already voted to legalize. I'd take her over another obstructionist asshole who doesn't think the will of the people should be recognized.

protomenace

This is a good thing and democrats should embrace it. Their inability to do so hurts them. If it was a Democrat-turned-Republican, the Republicans would be welcoming them with open arms and bragging about having converted them. See Jeff Van Drew. Instead, democrats obsess over these dumb ideological purity tests and eat each other alive.

doctorhoctor

It’s Democratic candidates. Try not to get sucked into the right wing meme of calling it the Democrat party when the proper title is Democratic Party

ClusterFoxtrot

I was hoping for a Taddeo run, but we might just wind back up with Crist again if that's the case. I am still struggling to figure out how Fried got her position. Florida doesn't make any sense.

Jah75

because she is a D that is smart enough to know that you run on gun rights in the south, and especially in the cesspool that is Florida

jokerZwild

Crist only jumped on the Dem ticket when he lost a while back. Do not know anything about Fried.

mosstrich

All I know is that the gas pumps say that she’s in charge of making sure they’re inspected.

SauronSymbolizedTech

Who's in charge of inspecting gas pump tags to accurately reflect who is currently in charge of inspecting them, assuming the new guy doesn't bother and no one therefore knows who to turn the heat up on?

I_Cant_Recall

She's taken a few good/humorous shots at DeSantis the past couple years or so. From what I've read she's an actual Democrat with actual Democrat views, so already a better choice than Charlie Crist.

CrestedZone7

Crist is a piece of shit. Dude jumps on to whatever power train he thinks will pull him up. You ask any independents in Florida and they’ll vote Desantis over Crist all day every day. Crist literally stands for nothing. He would just be another Sinema and that’s certainly not what Dems need. Literally what he did as Governor before. Now Nikki, I honestly don’t know enough about her to offer any input. I just know if Crist is the nominee Desantis will 100% win again.

ArrogantAragorn

Ugh, Crust is almost as bad. That would be a “hold my nose” blue vote

Such_Performance229

Both of these are horrible choices for the Dem ticket. Crist is a clear loser in any statewide election in FL and Fried is going to have a hard time defeating an extremely popular incumbent, given that she has low name ID and probably would have a mediocre party platform.

SouthernTrogg

Too bad Nikki Fried protects her abusive fiancé because he’s wealthy and part of the Trulieve ownership group.

SpectreInfinite

Democrats need to start publicizing the voting records of these pieces of.. in the most aggressive and public way possible. Every little they vote for needs to be public knowledge to the highest degree possible while they're engaging in gaslighting and sedition against the entire country.

RemarkableDecision46

i don’t even think it makes a difference anymore, people are so set in their opinions they disregard blatant facts and science.

muffinmonk

All it takes is a simple statement and lots of repetition. A well placed well designed billboard on the way to work every day will change some minds, I can guarantee that.

ShadooTH

Yep. Why else would Hillary be so evil? It couldn’t be that they played out a 30 year long game to slander her, right? ...Oh, wait. That’s exactly what they did.

Eggplantosaur

Americans are experts at doubling down on things that aren't true. The entire culture is built around always being right and covering up mistakes Placing billboards is a reasonable enough idea, but don't count on it changing any minds

ElQuicoSabate

Pieces of what??

bourscheid

I live in Jacksonville, a city with fiscal issues left, right, and center. Our zoo is one of the most cherished locations in the city, and the animals are treated extremely well. They were hurting quite a bit last year, and had to be closed for several months due to COVID. The public here in the city rallied around them and helped raise about a quarter million dollars to keep the zoo afloat. $200,000 of that budget was supposed to go to this zoo. DeSantis cut it. All of it.

Alder4000

He’s the bad guy in movies who kills a puppy in order to demonstrate what a baddie he is. DeSantis is a cartoon villain.

TheFeshy

I'm starting to wonder how writers of cartoons get away with that. Because having watched elections the last five years, I have to think that half of the audience is *very* confused when the puppy-kicker turns out to be the antagonist. "What a twist! The guy needlessly horrible to everyone and everything weaker or different than himself turned out to be the bad guy! I never saw it coming!"

Alder4000

I blame it on pro wrestling’s attitude/NWO era. Before that there was a good guy and a bad guy. The rolls were well defined, faces and heels. Then Stone Cold and Hollywood Hulk Hogan came along and turned everything upside down. Now they cheer the Trumps and boo the Bernies.

Ogediah

For anyone interested: Florida has a 6.6 billion dollar surplus and got [8.8](https://www.politico.com/states/florida/story/2021/06/02/desantis-signs-100b-florida-budget-flush-with-federal-pandemic-cash-1384839) billion dollars in federal covid aid. For comparison, California had a 76 billion dollar surplus and received [26](https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/california-budget-surplus-over-75b-including-26b-from-biden-stimulus/ar-BB1gAhoe) billion in aid.

Tashiya

Of course. That’s the Republican way.

partypooper14

Texas and Florida competing on who can have the greatest a-hole governor.

[deleted]

If you live in Florida, vote against every Republican possible. If not for your state's benefit, then for your benefit and democracy's benefit!!!

shopdog

The Democratic challengers should be highlighting all the programs he tanked with this.

lifesaberk

So stimulus money for State budget = Good Stimulus money for unemployed = Bad Yep GOP all the way

BigDWalks

Nothing scarier than a trumpsucker in a position of power.

008Zulu

Because Republicans are hypocrites like that.

TurningTwo

Nothing scarier than an intelligent person with ambition and no moral foundation.

markymark09090

Is he intelligent tho?

KeDoG3

He isnt, just manipulative. Textbook psychopath.

SmokesQuantity

Which requires intelligence. It’s intellect he’s lacking.

chickenstalker99

He's intelligent enough to scare the fuck out of me. This could be the guy who walks what was originally Trump's football across the goal line. He is very good at the terrifying shit he does, and he's a lot smoother than Trump in his execution. Trump showed him the way forward.

SmokesQuantity

Yeah he’s somewhere in between Trump and McConnell in rhetorical style and *slightly* easier to look at it. Scary indeed.

GreatOneLiners

Bingo

unbelizeable1

I think so, yes. At the very least, he'd be a competent Trump, which to me, is fucking terrifying.

TurningTwo

Magna cum laude at Yale and cum laude at Harvard Law School.

markymark09090

Doesnt answer the question

GreatOneLiners

It should, you’re not dealing with a dumb ass here and anyone worth their salt should be concerned

markymark09090

The college admissions scandal shows that these 'elite' schools let dumbasses in for money. See-Trump, Donald

SauronSymbolizedTech

As intelligent as a bucket of fried chicken.

LouFrost

That’s because the dude has no spine or sense of self-awareness.

hfist

See Floridians? DeSantis is lying to you about the money he **DID NOT** want you to receive from the Federal Government. Apparently, he believes all Floridians are just fine with no federal aid. DeSantis **DOES NOT** want to assist you in any way, he only wants to spread hate, misery, and death. Don't be fooled, Christians. This man does not have God in his heart, and he proudly practices in methods the Lord hates (as depicted in the Bible) Proverbs 6:16-19 ESV "There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, **a lying tongue**, and **hands that shed innocent blood**, a **heart that devises wicked plans**, **feet that make haste to run to evil**, a **false witness who breathes out lies**, and **one who sows discord among brothers**."

AgitatedMastodon1513

And he’ll get away with it, because republicans believe what they’re told.

hamsterfolly

Like a true Republican: oppose everything for the people and then take credit for it when it passes

ToulouseDM

I feel like anyone who pays attention to politics could see this coming. Not just him, but for a lot of Republicans. It’s a classic move. Anything good that comes from the Biden years they will steal and claim it as their own. Then the failures, which they are responsible for, they’ll blame on democrats for not being able to pass laws. They know most of their followers just watch FauxNews.

benadrylpill

The GOP is the fucking worst and I cannot see how any conscious, aware adult human being would want to support them in any way other than being fueled by hate or just plain "my team versus your team" nonsense. There is no logical explanation otherwise why anyone would support the GOP. All they do is hurt Americans. Hurt, divide, lie, antagonize, and take take take, both money and credit for work that isn't theirs. I just don't get it. Are there really that many hateful, ignorant morons in this country? I mean, really??

Fonsiloco

Scumbag gonna scumbag

SempriniQuest

Again, we see a simple truth: *GQP MAGA traitors would starve without America's Blue money-nipple keeping them alive.*

WimpyLimpet

Typical Republican. Vote against something people want, and then take credit for it when it passes anyway.

SauronSymbolizedTech

I would like to opt out of DeSantis having grocery access, please. Makes as much sense as state level officials opting out of your personal income.

saiyanjesus

If DeSantis didn't have double standards, he wouldn't have any standards.

Option-Lazy

Hey Ron, California had a budget surplus that damn near equals your entire budget so shut the fuck up you fucking dick knuckle.

McNuttyNutz

Typical republican bullshit

captaincumguts

He's a disgusting fuck and also involved in the coke for girls scheme that all Florida republicans are ensnared in. Just wait. It's coming down the plank.

Naptiva

Can we have it back?

Jdphotopdx

He extra sucks.

drbbanner0

If you voted this guy in, you should be ashamed

wonteatfish

Typical Republican hypocrisy playbook.

Which-Moment-6544

"$1,000 bonus checks for teachers, principals and first responders" This is how a rich rewards a poor for risking their lives? They forgot all the other essential workers, though.

random-axe

He's not a governor; he's a parasite.

supermansquito

DeSantis is such a waste of carbon.

cyferhax

Can we start deciding who gets funding based on their senators voting on these bills? Both vote no? You get nothing. 1 yes, 1 no? You get half of whatever that bill provides. We really need to stop helping people who, not only refuse it, but actively work against others receiving help.

WalterBishop85

DeSantis is nothing more than a tiny Putin.

Amorougen

In 2021, [Florida was one of the largest "taker" states in the US](https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/donor-states). I say cut them off when they reach the same amount of dollars they put into taxes. Screw this parasite and his leach constituency. Who needs them.

Rocketboy1313

What? A fascist who is a liar? Unbelievable.

sarah_echo

snoosnusnu

Zero. Sum. That’s all it is to them. Democratic Governor doesn’t toe the line for Trump? Funds withheld. Forget the concept of UNITED States. Republican Governor doesn’t toe the line for Biden? Funds received. What a loser Biden is!

ViceroyFizzlebottom

I think I read the messaging problem which explains why democrats are losing the PR battle. The democrats don't come out with soundbytes, they come with statements. The democrats need to boil it down to: "Thank you Democrats and Pres. Biden for approving $9 billion of federal stimulus for Florida. DeSantis couldn't have done it without it!"

red_fist

Well in all fairness, he’s going to need that for court costs defending unconstitutional laws.

R_W0bz

I know it’ll start a bad tit for tat trend but if these states oppose it, why the fuck send it to them. If they elect a leader who thinks they don’t need it, then that’s their free right.

MetalMamaRocks

Because the voters can't put 2 and 2 together. Here in Kentucky they live on social security and Medicaid in their government-subsidized homes and vote for Mitch McConnell.

HotBodyToddy

Ladies and gentlemen, the “rising star” in the GOP.

Scotteye21

Of course he fucking did. Sometimes, as an Aussie, I watch this shit show and think “This can’t be real. The US must be a television show” It would be hilarious if it wasn’t so depressing

aprilfool69

Republicans are going to be disgusting. That's just how things work.

chrisofaust

Born to be a bottom dweller.

musky_tusk_necklace

Larry Hogan likes to take credit for others’ accomplishments too! [Here’s one example](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.baltimoresun.com/politics/bs-md-hogan-lockbox-20180828-story.html%3foutputType=amp).

TheGreatBwaBwa

This brings to mind Biden's words about bragging about something you oppose. Made me laugh.

SteamyMcSteamy

It’s called having you cake and eating it too.

TracyJ48

He's just following the GOP playbook. Nobody should be shocked.

GojiraBlowFlames

FACT: every Republican is a liar and a grifter. and their base loves them for it, while claiming to be the “party of morals and values”.

murdocke

This guy always looks like he's about to shit his pants.

ferdayoda

Rugged individual capitalism field thee; grifting sonuvabitch assclown stealing all your money I opposed for me.

bmwlocoAirCooled

The man is just cold ass mean

Negus_Capital

Typical republican hypocritical bullshit.

elcracko

So it’s ok for them to block federal Unemployment going to its citizens but taking money from the feds for the state? Interesting

Phaedrus317

It's my understanding DeSantis has WWTD tattooed on his palm so he can reference it easily before taking any action. What would Trump do?

BenDurhover

Fuck desantis and the gop

HeroDanTV

Ever since CPAC, there's been this running narrative about how great DeSantis is. I'm sure they spent a ton of money on the messaging, but it essentially fell flat. Within a couple weeks, it was obvious that Florida wasn't stopping new Covid case transmission (they were the highest in the US), so the narrative shifted to how great Texas was. At this point, DeSantis seems like a backup plan in case Trump doesn't run in 2024, but it's such a lame attempt at this point. My guess is if Trump does run again, it'll just be to raise grift money and he won't actually want to win. If Trump doesn't run, the GOP will be clueless on what to do because they won't have had time to build up any narratives for one candidate. Even the hype around DeSantis is super weak, and as long as there's that wildcard of will he or won't he run for Trump, that won't change.

Hermitcrab710

Moving to Florida and won’t be voting for this ASSHAT or anyone red for that matter 🥶

QuicklyCat

Unbiased Headline — “DeSantis Compromises with Democrat opposition on Florida Budget“ Would that be so difficult?

benadrylpill

He either took credit or he didn't. It's a statement of fact.

unrulystowawaydotcom

I just cant help but think that he kinda looks like Shemp Howard every time I see him.

Real-Paul-Walker

Every single time

alnothree

Give dat shit back to the feds fuckhead! Then let’s look at ur budget! DB!

Wesdexter3000

I just want to know what happens to the money that the federal government passed to give to the people. So he gets funding, but we don’t😑

marco3804

massive asshole

TUGrad

Just like Congressional Republicans taking credit for Covid stimulus they voted against.

nanormcfloyd

I see he's gonna be a stain that seriously needs some elbow grease

Lahm0123

His base will not care.

NegativeFootballHead

Him and Marjorie Taylor Greene kind of look like family. Something about their "faces". Kind of uncanny
