Can we please have him back every game?

Can we please have him back every game?

leecanter

Looks like he’s real proud of how far the team has come. Loved him as an Islander. One of the bright spots in the dark days.

andrewkentmd

Go Big Red. One of Cornell’s finest

dl2316

One of my first hockey memories (i mustve been four or five) was the Sam Paolini OT goal against Harvard. Moulson, Murray, iggulden, the Abbott bros and LeNevue was quite a team. Still upset that Barron was drafted by the Rangers

andrewkentmd

Ranked first heading into pandemic! The program is back!

dl2316

In both men’s and women’s hockey…such a shame how that season ended. Gonna be a real young team next season!

When_The_Levy_Breaks

The pride of Ithaca baby

andrewkentmd

I’m old. Lance Nethery was our star

[I will repost this in every Matt Moulson thread for the rest of time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=957A12SO2HM)

Sherman_Gepard

I was hoping it would be this video. Iconic.

sassafrasgloves

Awwwwwwww

FriendlySlytherin

I guess he officially retired? I thought he was still playing for Hershey.

zxpzflik

I was at a Bears game in April and he was still on the ice for them. I think their season ended last weekend if I’m not mistaken.

FriendlySlytherin

Yeah I just looked and he played this past season. Looked like he played really well too. I was just surprised he’d be openly cheering on the Islanders because I assumed he was under contract with the Caps but he’s actually on an AHL contract so I guess it’s all good.

shockwave-315

He played as of last week for Hersey. He "speared" a guy up high and recieved a match penalty. Moulson threw a clean and solid hip check. Guy didn't like it and hit Moulson in retaliation. As they're on the ice, the guy has Matt prone and on his stomach. Refs completely missed a call on a dirty cross check to the back of Moulstache that sent his head right into the ice. Matt defended himself. You love to see it. 💪

MrMilano12

I recall an Athletic article about him (and a lot of this could be wrong) but when he went to Buffalo he lost his passion for the game and it wasn't until he started playing in the AHL again that he started to have fun and enjoy himself. MM26♥️

Barron-Blade

Man you know your team is in a rough state where playing in the AHL is more alluring than the NHL club lol

xlittlebeastx

Yeah from all ive read the dude just seems to love hockey and the game and wants to play. So pumped to see this.

Kbgears

Love Matty

DoctorLeonardChurch

One of my favorite Islanders, what a guy

Algoresball

They couldn’t give him a seat by the glass?

h0rst87

Honestly, rather sit at the back of the lower bowl than on the glass. Ice level is only best if playing imho

Destroyer776766

True, if they're not playing right in front of you, you have to look at the big screen to see whats going on

h0rst87

Ain't no big screen at NVMC. Lots of empassioned individuals, though. Watchung other playoff games, nobody else allows fans in yet?

Destroyer776766

Well i didn't mean big screen literally

h0rst87

Agreed though, can't watch plays develop. I think most folks who understand the game don't like to sit too low to observe, but can still understand from ice level.

hineyfart

My guess is the dude wanted to be with the fans. He is as down to earth as they come.

AfellowchuckerEhh

Sitting by the glass is nice to experience at least once but the fun in going to the game is the atmosphere/fans. Once sat a few rows back from Nystrom 10-15years ago. He was sitting front row of the upper bowl.

Buhhwheat

Back before the renovation they had seats called "upper VIP" which were just the first couple rows of the 300s, they were the best seats in the house IMO.

AfellowchuckerEhh

Yea. That's actually where he was sitting if my memory serves me correct. He saw me do a double take as a walked by and offered to sign my jersey too.

ballots_stones

The first rows right in between the stairs. Nothing better.

carpy22

Old 200s, new 100s were special as well.

HermesTristmegistus

looks like a proud father lol

firePA498

This picture is making me feel old... wish so much we could take back the Vanek trade... what a horrible move that was. His return with the Wild in 2014 in that 6-0 loss was not a pleasant experience.

dl2316

I have a Moulson signed stick. Absolutely love that guy

sappiaverita

I met him when I was like 11 at a Sound Tigers game. My travel team had played a game at Webster Bank before the ST game and Moulson was sitting pretty close to our team’s section. He took pictures with everyone who asked and was really nice about it. Cool guy

When_The_Levy_Breaks

Only if the guy with the FART 69 jersey comes too

Generic_Reddit_Bot

69? Nice. I am a bot lol.

bowlingchair

he was my first jersey!

S4vant

Didn't he just get a match penalty the other day for spearing? Might've gotten a suspension.

swanzor1

Is this even a recent picture? I see no masks and kinda looks like Barclays

LooseSeal-

That is very, extremely, undoubtedly the Nassau Coliseum.

swanzor1

K... but still don’t think this is a recent picture

LooseSeal-

It's from today's game. Multiple posts on social media of people running into him

swanzor1

Wasn’t there only 6,000 people? And I know restrictions have loosened but there’s not a single mask to be found

LooseSeal-

I believe that side of the rink was the vaccinated section. The vast majority of the people at the game were on that side of the rink. The other side was very spread out.

swanzor1

Well good to see New York so open again

monkeyhead62

Also the person with the orange hat behind MM has a mask on. You can only see the top of it though

cosmic-melodies

he was indeed at the game today.
